This is a people business, inside and out, and we welcome all voices to the table.

We’re committed to a barrier-free culture for our employees, our clients, and our communities. The principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility — IDEA — are core to Definity’s values and are essential to meeting our business objectives now and in the future.

Definity is focused on building a dynamic, inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging. We know that diversity makes us stronger, so we aim to attract and nurture the best and brightest from a wide variety of backgrounds and lived experiences.

We know that there is still a lot of work to be done to promote diversity of voices in industries like ours, which is why we have established targets for candidates from equity-deserving groups in leadership roles at Definity.

Our objective is to have at least 30% women and at least 15% Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC), LGBTQ+, and/or persons with disabilities at the Vice-President and Executive Leadership Team levels by 2026. To achieve these objectives, we will identify and develop talent more deeply within the organization, broaden our recruitment practices, and review and remove biases from recruitment, selection, and planning policies.

Executive sponsorship

Each member of our Executive Leadership Team plays an important role in sponsoring inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility at Definity.

  • Rowan Saunders, our President and CEO, is our executive sponsor for inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. He is also a mentor to the Chair of our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Advisory Committee.
  • Several members of our Executive Leadership Team are also executive sponsors and participate on our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Advisory Committee.
  • All other members of our Executive Leadership Team are mentors to our Employee Group Chairs, while our Employee Group Chairs are reverse mentors to them.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Advisory Committee

Our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Advisory Committee is made up of employees who reflect different functions, regions, levels, and lived experiences across our business. IDEA Advisory Committee is aligned to our overall company direction and plays a prominent role in establishing our diversity and inclusion strategy, plan, and measures, as well as in initiating efforts that make us more inclusive.

Employee Groups

Our IDEA-focused Employee Groups (EGs) advocate for awareness, advise in policy development, identify barriers and opportunities for inclusion, and hold diversity and inclusion events. All employees are welcome to join any employee group, either as a community member or an ally. Joining an employee group fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment.
